What the Salesforce integration gives you

  • Salesforce stays the source

Edit a record in Salesforce and the change reaches your website on the next sync. Nobody re-keys a biography, a job title, or an address.

  • You choose what gets published

Map any Salesforce object to People, Venues, or Organizations, and set conditions so only the right records go live, such as those with an active status.

  • Pages you can still edit

Synced records are ordinary Basker content. Import a field once and edit it in Basker from then on, or let Salesforce overwrite it on every sync.

  • Read-only and secure

Basker connects with your own Salesforce credentials and only reads data. Nothing is written back to your CRM.

Overview

Basker connects your website to Salesforce so the people and organisations already in your CRM can appear on your site without being copied across by hand. Keep the people and organisations behind your website in Salesforce, and publish them in Basker.

Salesforce's role

Salesforce is a CRM platform. For many arts and cultural organisations it holds the records that matter to development, membership, and partnerships: the people you work with, the venues you use, and the organisations that support you.

Basker's role

Basker is a content management system and website builder for organisations that put on live events. It gives marketing and digital teams a place to build pages and publish content. Basker is not a CRM. With the Salesforce integration, it turns the Salesforce records you select into structured website content.

How does the Salesforce integration work?

Connect your Salesforce org once with a client ID and secret. Then map Salesforce objects to Basker content:

  • People for the individuals you want to feature, such as team members, artists, or advisers.
  • Venues for the places you perform in or partner with.
  • Organizations for sponsors, producers, and partners.

For each mapping, choose the Salesforce object, match its fields to Basker fields, and add custom attributes for anything else you want to show. Several Salesforce objects can feed the same Basker content type, so lists held in different Salesforce objects can all become People. Salesforce values can also fill a record's image, and rich-text biographies are cleaned up before they are published.

Control what goes live

Publish conditions decide which Salesforce records reach your site. Match on a field value, check that a field is empty or filled, or compare a date with today. A record that stops meeting the conditions is unpublished on the next sync, and a record removed from Salesforce is unpublished too.

Records arrive as ordinary Basker content, so scheduled publishing and manual unpublishing still work. Salesforce cannot override a decision your team has made in Basker.

Keep editorial control where you want it

Each mapped field has a sync behaviour:

  • Overwrite on sync keeps the field in step with Salesforce.
  • Import once copies the Salesforce value the first time, then hands the field to your team.

That lets Salesforce own the facts, such as a name or a role, while your team owns the writing, such as a longer biography.

Sync schedule

Each object syncs on its own interval: every 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Basker fetches what has changed since the last sync, and runs periodic full checks so records changed or deleted between syncs are not left behind.

Link several Salesforce records to one page

Sometimes the same person or organisation appears in more than one Salesforce object. In Basker, a record can carry several Salesforce source links, so it keeps a single page. You decide the order of priority when two sources map the same field.

Frequently asked questions

Is Salesforce a CMS?
No. Salesforce is a CRM platform. Basker runs the CMS and website layer, and can publish selected Salesforce records as web content.
What Salesforce data can Basker sync?
Basker syncs Salesforce objects into three Basker content types, People, Venues, and Organizations. Standard and custom objects and fields can be mapped. Events, tickets, and donations are not part of this integration.
Does Basker write back to Salesforce?
No. The connection is read-only. Basker reads the objects you map and never changes records in Salesforce.
Can I control which records are published?
Yes. Add publish conditions to each mapping, for example a status field that must equal Active. Records that stop meeting the conditions are unpublished. Manual and scheduled publishing settings in Basker always take precedence.
How often does it sync?
You choose an interval for each Salesforce object, from every 5 minutes to every hour. Basker also runs periodic checks to catch anything an incremental sync missed.
Can I edit synced content in Basker?
Yes. Set a field to Import once and Basker copies the Salesforce value the first time, then leaves it for your team to edit. Fields set to Overwrite on sync follow Salesforce.
Do I need a separate Salesforce subscription?
Yes. Salesforce is a third-party platform with its own agreement. Basker connects to your existing Salesforce org.
Does Basker replace Salesforce?
No. Salesforce remains your CRM. Basker is the website and content layer.
