Set Your Own Canonical URL On Any Page

Editors can now override canonical URLs from the SEO tab on any page without developer involvement.

Editors can now set a canonical URL directly from the SEO tab on any page. This is useful for syndicated articles, campaign pages, migrated URLs, and any content surface that appears in more than one place.

Where to find it

The canonical URL field sits on the SEO tab in the page editor alongside the existing meta title, description, and social image fields. It overrides the default canonical Basker generates from the page path.

Context from the broader SEO release

This builds on the broader SEO foundation introduced in v5: central JSON-LD generation, Open Graph data, noindex controls, sitemaps, publish dates, and richer default metadata are all in place. Canonical URL override is the final precision tool for teams managing complex URL structures.
