Custom Structured Data for SEO
The SEO tab now accepts your own JSON-LD structured data, validated when you save and merged with the structured data Basker already generates.
Basker generates structured data for events, venues, and people, but an about page, a contact page, or an FAQ has its own story to tell search engines. The SEO tab now has a custom structured data field where you can add your own JSON-LD, so any page can describe itself in the terms that suit it. This works across pages, blogs, posts, authors, events, event instances, people, venues, organisations, series, seasons, and works.
Checked when you save
The field accepts a single JSON-LD node or a full graph, and Basker checks it when you save. Anything malformed is rejected with a message, so a typo is caught in the admin and never reaches your live site.
Merged with what Basker generates
Your structured data is added alongside the structured data Basker already produces for the page. Where the two describe the same item, the built-in values stay, so a custom addition cannot overwrite the event or venue details search engines rely on. Event instance pages also include the custom structured data from their parent event.
