Smarter Image Handling and CDN-Safe Media Variants

Teams can manage derived images, overrides, and CDN-safe variants with improved handling for GIFs, non-image files, EXIF orientation, focal point crops, and Orange Logic imports.

Building on the image variant model introduced in January, this release hardens media handling for production. Basker now delivers derived images, overrides, nested asset paths, and CDN-safe variants more reliably, so editors can keep source media clean while trusting the output across cards, heroes, galleries, and social previews.

What is covered

This release improves animated GIF handling, non-image file delivery, EXIF orientation, focal point crops, and Orange Logic imports. Together, these changes make media behave more predictably across the CMS and public sites.

Fewer surprises in production

The variant model already keeps crops consistent across contexts. This release closes the gaps that still tripped up real uploads: animated GIFs, non-image files, and photos rotated by EXIF orientation now render as expected, and CDN-safe delivery keeps those variants stable at scale.
