Welsh, Spanish, And Japanese Locale Support Expands

Basker now has a broader locale foundation for multilingual organisations, with Welsh admin labels and Spanish, Welsh, and Japanese date-formatting paths.

Basker now has a broader locale foundation for multilingual organisations. Welsh admin labels, shared content-locale definitions, and Spanish, Welsh, and Japanese date-formatting paths are now available.

Why the foundation matters

Language support requires labels, route validation, preview state, date formatting, and theme data to agree before it can feel reliable in production. This release expands the underlying infrastructure that makes each of those pieces consistent.

Faster future language launches

With this foundation in place, new language launches are faster and less likely to surface inconsistencies between the admin interface and the public site. The French language launch, which arrived in May 2026, was built on this same infrastructure.
