Media Usage Counts and Expiry Dates
The Media list now shows how many places each file is used and lets you record an expiry date, so audits and clean-ups start from a sorted list rather than guesswork.
An annual media audit means answering two questions for every file: is it still used, and are you still allowed to use it. The Media list now includes a Usage column showing how many places each file appears, and media has an expiration date field, so you can find unused and out-of-licence files from the list without opening each one.
Usage at a glance
Usage appears as a column in the Media list and in the sidebar of each file. You can sort by it to bring unused files to the top, and the count updates as content is published, so it reflects the site as it stands.
Expiry dates you can filter on
Set an expiration date in a file's sidebar when an image comes with a licence end date. The date appears as a column in the Media list and can be sorted and filtered, so a search for everything expiring this season takes a moment. The date is a record for your team: files stay on your site until you remove or replace them.
