Bulk And Version-Targeted Field Updates In The Partner API

Partners can update configured fields across many records in a single API call and target either the published or draft version, with error responses that follow Partner API conventions.

Partners no longer have to update records one at a time. The Partner API can now set or clear configured fields across many records in a single request, so syncing values from an external system or fixing a field in bulk takes one call instead of dozens. You can match the records you want with a filter, or apply the change to every record in a collection, and run the update as a dry run first to preview what will change.

Update many records at once

A single request can set new values or clear existing ones across the records that match your filter. Both custom attributes and theme settings are supported, and the change applies to all matching records together, which keeps large updates fast and consistent.

Target published or draft versions

Each update can target either the published version of a record or its draft, so you can stage changes safely before they go live or correct already-published content directly. Updates default to the published version when no target is given.

Consistent errors and filters

Validation and request errors now return in the same shape as the rest of the Partner API, including a request identifier, so integrations can handle failures the same way everywhere. Partner-style filters are available for selecting the records you want to change.
