Choose Which Content Types Have Public Pages
Site settings now let you switch public pages on or off for each content type, so records used only to power blocks and collections stay out of your sitemap and search results.
Some sites use people and venues only to power blocks and smart collections, with no need for a public page per record. Site settings now include a switch for each content type, covering events, people, venues, seasons, series, works, organisations, blogs, posts, and search, so you decide which of them have public pages. Every switch is on by default, so your site behaves as it did until you change one.
What happens when a type is switched off
Its pages show your site's own 404 page, and they are left out of your sitemap and structured data. The content stays in the admin, in previews, and in the API, so blocks and smart collections that draw on it keep working.
The admin follows your choice
Link pickers, collection choices in the Website Builder, and search filters stop offering a content type once its pages are switched off, so editors cannot link to a page that does not exist. Links already saved are preserved.
