Orange Logic

Connect Basker to your Orange Logic DAM and import assets directly into the media library

The Orange Logic app is Basker's digital asset manager (DAM) integration. It connects your Basker site to your Orange Logic DAM and lets editors import assets directly into the Media library without leaving Basker.

This integration is focused on asset ingestion: bringing media and its metadata from Orange Logic into Basker.

Connection

The Orange Logic app needs connection details for your Orange Logic instance:

  • The Orange Logic host or domain.
  • API credentials for accessing assets.
  • Either a bearer token or a client ID and client secret for authenticated API access.

You can also limit the browser to images, videos, or audio, and name additional Orange Logic metadata fields to request.

Save the credentials and Basker tests the connection. Editors who can manage media see an additional Import from Orange Logic option in the media library once the app is connected.

Importing an asset

Open the media library and choose Import from Orange Logic. The Orange Logic browser opens inside Basker, where you can search and pick the asset you want.

When you confirm the selection, Basker:

  • Downloads the chosen asset into your media library as a new media record.
  • Enriches the record with metadata from Orange Logic: title, alt text, credit, and any other fields the credentials allow.
  • Treats the imported file as a normal Basker media item afterwards; it can be tagged, given a focal point, used in transformations, and referenced like any other asset.

The original asset stays in Orange Logic; what's imported is a copy plus the metadata that travelled with it.

Replacing an existing media item

Starting Import from Orange Logic from the media library creates a new media record. To replace the file on an existing media item, open that item and use its Orange Logic browser field; Basker updates that selected record. Choose the intended route carefully if you want to avoid a duplicate.
