Form responses and notifications

Understand how complete form responses are delivered and what remains in Basker

When a visitor submits a form, Basker processes any configured email notifications and then removes the submitted values from the stored submission.

Receive complete responses by email

Configure one or more email notifications on the form. Basker prepares the notification before it removes the values, so the notification contains the complete response.

Before publishing a form:

  • Send a test response using the live form.
  • Confirm that every intended recipient receives it.
  • Check the spam or quarantine policy for the receiving mailbox.
  • Confirm that the message contains the fields your team needs.

See Forms to configure recipients.

What remains in Basker

The stored submission shows that someone submitted the form and which fields were present. Basker replaces each submitted value with [removed for privacy] immediately after processing. This is not a temporary retention period. The original values cannot be recovered or exported from that submission later.

Access to the submission list depends on the View form submissions permission. The list is useful for confirming receipt and timing, not for reading the response.

If a response is missing

If Basker shows that a submission happened but the notification is missing, check the recipient address, spam or quarantine, and any mailbox forwarding rules. Because Basker has already removed the stored values, support cannot reconstruct the visitor's response from that submission.
