Create channels
Create the browser output used by each digital signage display
A channel is the output opened by a physical display. It has its own URL, aspect ratio, optional schedule group, and recurring playlist time slots.
Create one channel for each independently programmed output. Two displays can use the same channel URL when they should always show the same thing.
Create a channel
Open Screens → Channels and create a channel.
- Enter a name that identifies the output, such as
Main foyer landscape. - Review the generated slug. The slug becomes part of the public screen URL.
- Choose 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, or custom dimensions.
- Optionally assign the channel to a channel group.
- Add one or more time slots, or save and use the visual Schedule view instead.
Channel slugs must be unique within the site.
Complete custom dimensions
A custom channel needs both a positive width and a positive height. If either value is missing or invalid, the public player cannot accept the channel payload and remains black.
Use channel groups
Channel groups organise the left side of the Schedule view. Use them for locations, buildings, screen shapes, or another grouping that makes a large set of channels easier to scan.
A group changes schedule organisation only. It does not combine channel playback or give the group a shared public URL.
Add time slots on the channel
The Time slots tab supports the full recurring schedule form. Each slot contains:
- An optional name
- One or more playlists
- One or more days of the week
- All day or one or more specific time brackets
Use the channel form when a slot needs several time brackets or continues past midnight. For quicker visual scheduling, use Schedule playback.
Time slots on the same channel cannot overlap. Basker rejects a conflicting slot because a channel can play only one scheduled slot at a time.
Choose the display shape
Match the channel ratio to the physical display and to the slides it will play. For custom dimensions, use the same width and height when creating the slides.
The player scales the channel uniformly to fit the browser window. If the browser window has another shape, the unused area remains black.
Preview and open the channel
After saving, use Open screen in the channel header. The admin link opens a signed preview when available, with useful status and slide details that do not appear on the public display.
