Schedule playback
Arrange recurring playlist time slots across channels and channel groups
Open Screens → Schedule to program channels on a visual timeline. The schedule uses recurring weekday and time rules rather than one-off calendar dates.
Before scheduling
Create at least one channel and one playlist. If there are no channels, the Schedule view offers to create the first one.
Times are interpreted in your site's timezone. Confirm that setting before programming unattended displays.
Add a playlist to a channel
Use an empty area of a channel row to add a time slot. Choose an existing playlist or create a new one, then set whether it runs all day or during a specific period.
A slot added from the timeline initially repeats every day. Open it to choose particular weekdays. Copying and pasting a slot preserves its recurring rules; it does not create a one-off entry for the date currently visible on the board.
You can also append another playlist to an existing slot. Playlists in the same slot run back-to-back in their selected order.
Set recurring days and times
A time slot can run every day or on selected weekdays. Its time coverage can be:
- All day
- One start-and-end bracket
- Several brackets configured in the channel form
- A bracket that continues past midnight
The time picker uses 15-minute increments. Deselecting the final weekday resets the slot to every day, so each slot always appears on at least one day. Removing the final specific time bracket restores all-day playback.
A bracket cannot start and end at the same time. Slots on one channel cannot overlap, including the next-day portion of an overnight bracket.
Work on the timeline
The visual board supports common programming tasks:
- Drag an eligible timed slot to another free time on its channel.
- Resize the beginning or end of an eligible timed slot.
- Copy or cut a slot, then paste it onto another free channel and time.
- Delete a selected slot.
- Open a slot to change its playlists, weekdays, or times.
Use Command/Ctrl + C, Command/Ctrl + X, and Command/Ctrl + V for copy, cut, and paste. Delete or Backspace removes the selected slot after confirmation. The same actions are available from the context menu.
Changes made in the slot panel or by moving a timeline block save immediately.
Overnight continuations and slots with several time brackets are not simple single blocks. Edit those through the channel's Time slots form rather than trying to reshape them on the timeline.
Navigate the board
Use the date controls to move through the seven-day view or return to today. Adjust the zoom when you need either a broad programming overview or more precise time placement.
The now marker and schedule calculations use the site's timezone, not necessarily the timezone of the computer viewing the admin.
Organise channels
Create and rename channel groups from the Schedule view, collapse groups you are not working on, and move or reorder channels to keep the board readable.
Deleting a group does not delete its channels. The channels return to the ungrouped area.
Preview what is live
The preview dock gives a quick view of the channel content active now. It follows the real current time, not a future time selected or visible elsewhere on the board.
Use Open screen for the final preview. That preview resolves the public player state and adds slide navigation, playlist details, linked-record titles, and status messages such as Nothing scheduled right now.
The public player stays visually silent and shows black during the same unscheduled gap.
Understand slot priority
Basker prevents overlapping slots on a channel, so there is at most one active slot. When a slot contains more than one playlist, all its playlist slides are combined into one repeating sequence.
When the active slot changes, playback starts from the first slide of the newly active sequence.
Check an overnight schedule
For a time bracket that passes midnight:
- Preview the channel before the bracket starts.
- Check the content shortly before and after midnight.
- Confirm when the overnight slot ends on the following day.
- Check what should appear next, including an intentional black period.
