Build playlists
Put slides into playback order and set how long each one appears
A playlist is an ordered sequence of slides. Each occurrence of a slide has its own duration, so the same slide can stay on screen for different lengths of time in different playlists.
Create a playlist
Open Screens → Playlists and create a playlist.
- Enter a clear name.
- Select Add slide.
- Search for and choose an existing slide, or create a slide without leaving the playlist workflow.
- Repeat until the sequence is complete.
- Save the playlist.
The playlist slug is generated from its name and can be edited if needed.
Add an existing slide
The slide picker shows each slide's name, preview, and aspect ratio. Select the slide and choose Add.
Expand a playlist row to see its preview and duration. The default duration is 10 seconds and the minimum is one second.
Create a slide while editing
From the slide picker, choose Create new slide. You can create a blank slide with an aspect ratio and zone preset, or base it on an existing template. The new slide is added to the playlist automatically.
Open Screens → Slides afterwards if it still needs linked records or detailed design work.
Reorder and reuse slides
Drag playlist rows into playback order. Removing a row removes that occurrence from the playlist; it does not delete the slide itself.
You can add the same slide to several playlists, or more than once in one playlist. Each row keeps its own duration.
Understand playback
The player shows each slide for the duration set on its playlist row. After the final slide, playback starts again at the first slide.
If a channel time slot contains several playlists, Basker plays their slides back-to-back in the selected playlist order, then repeats the combined sequence.
An empty playlist has nothing to play. A live channel with an active slot but no playable slides remains black.
Before scheduling
- Check that every slide has its real linked records selected.
- Keep slide and channel aspect ratios consistent.
- Give text-heavy slides enough time to read.
- Preview video slides for their full duration.
- Remove empty or unfinished slides from the sequence.
Deleting slides and playlists
A slide cannot be deleted while a playlist uses it. Remove the slide from those playlists first.
A playlist cannot be deleted while a channel time slot uses it. Remove it from the relevant slots first. These safeguards prevent a live schedule from being broken accidentally.
