Reusable section

Drop a section you built once onto any page, and update it everywhere from one place.

The Reusable Section block places a section you saved once onto the current page. Edit the saved section in one place and every page that uses it updates at the same time. Use it for content that repeats across the site — a "Plan your visit" panel, a sponsor strip, a contact block, or any layout you don't want to rebuild page by page.

Choosing the section

The block has a single setting on its General tab:

  • Reusable Section (required) — pick the saved section you want to drop onto the page.

You build and edit the underlying sections separately, then reuse them here as many times as you like. See Reusable sections for how to create one, edit it, and track its history.

A section cannot contain itself

You cannot choose the section you are currently editing. Basker hides it from the list and blocks the choice with the message A reusable section cannot reference itself.

Shared controls

The saved section carries its own layout, background, and appearance — those come from how you built the section, not from this block. The only thing you adjust here is the space around the section, on the Padding tab:

Example

A "Plan your visit" panel that should appear at the foot of every event page:

Build the section once

In Reusable sections, create the panel — opening hours, directions, and a booking button — and save it.

Drop it onto a page

On an event page, add a Reusable Section block where you want the panel to appear.

Pick the panel

On the General tab, set Reusable Section to the panel you saved.

Reuse it everywhere

Add the same block to your other event pages. When you later change the saved panel, every page that uses it updates at once.
